Trip with the Intergenerational nursery session to the Growing Places Barn to Wickham
On Wednesday 21st July 2021, Residents from Woodlands were invited to attend the Growing Places barn in Wickham for lunch in a glorious country setting.
Residents joined the nursery children, from the intergenerational session that takes place at Woodlands Care Home every Wednesday throughout the school term.
The Residents were very excited and very much looking forward to going out into the fresh air and enjoying a change of scenery. Due to the pandemic, Residents have not been able to access the local community due to health and safety reasons, so this trip was very much needed by all.
Wendy from Growing Places arrived at the home at 10am with a minibus to collect all the staff and Residents who were joining. Residents were so full of excitement, and they had a sing song on the bus while traveling to the destination.
Upon arriving at the destination, the staff from Growing Places had put on an amazing table setting, complete with vintage style tablecloths and had prepared Residents a beautiful lunch with an abundance of tea, coffee, and fresh juice. The staff were so welcoming and made the Residents feel extremely important and very welcomed.
Residents also got to meet some wonderful animals that the Growing places staff care for. Residents enjoyed meeting the residential sheep and chickens whilst enjoying the glorious sunshine and fresh air in a beautiful country setting.
The outing was such a success Residents were smiling from ear to ear and thoroughly enjoyed the day,
Staff from Woodlands Care that attended agreed that the residents had a fantastic day and that it really made everyone feel extremely proud to be part of it
